The stuff in my head needs space on a page so I can think straight – sometimes.
Graham Greene wrote 500 words a day I heard once, I have no way of knowing if this is true but I like to believe it is. He said in an interview with the New York Times in 1971:
"My chief sickness is getting easily bored- a symptom of manic depression. What I cherish most is probably escape from boredom, escape from oneself. That can come from loving somebody, or from a good wine, or from travel. Or from getting involved in something which isn't one's own problem- the days when I used to go out to Vietnam during the French war. Something that will make the adrenalin work, too."
Apart from the war I identify with that!
I also choose to believe that blogging is a good habit for me to get into. Time will tell.
I identify with this entirely. including the vietnam bit! although hopefully the only war i’ll encounter is trying to get my scooter into the middle lane in the rush hour. well done you for finding that quote.

Sadly, it is more about the wine lately than any travel. Someone said on the tv yesterday, ‘there is nowhere in the world I want to go so much that I am prepared to get into a tin can with hundreds of people and be fired at it at 700 miles per hour!’. I want to go to Mongolia and back to India – I may have to walk…
Beautiful, intense, soulful writing… I initially was attracted to your blog because of the title as I watched The Horse Whisperer this past weekend and the truth underneath it all came through into my own life. You have a way of touching people’s souls in your writing, just wanted you to know.
Thank you – I read the Horse Whisperer when it came out; it seems like an awfully long time ago now. I still recall that it was very powerful.
